Grass Variety

Available Now. TifTuf™ Bermuda is sold only as a certified bermudagrass. It sets the new scientific standard in drought resistance and sustainability – requiring less water and recovering from drought faster than any other bermudagrass on the market. TifTuf™ has a fine texture, bright green color, and boasts superior recovery from traffic and injury. It is the all-around best choice for professionals and homeowners seeking a low-maintenance turf with excellent performance under stress. TifTuf™ is grown year-round at NG Turf and can be installed as dormant sod during the winter months.

Installation Techniques
Sod is the best way for instant beauty and a lush yard. Water the sod as you lay it. Do not wait until you are finished to water it. It will take about two to three weeks for complete establishment. TifTuf™ is an aggressive grower and establishes quickly.

Maintenance Instructions
Recommended mowing height is 1/2 to 1 1/2 inches, removing no more than 1/3 total height at one time. In the spring do not apply nitrogen containing fertilizers until the soil temperature at 4 inches is 65 degrees Fahrenheit or higher. Ideal pH for bermudas is 5.5 - 6.5. Follow fertilizer recommendations on soil test report. You can do this through your local county extension agent. Don't know your county extension agent? Find them here! "With the extreme drought conditions being experienced in California and around the United States, there has never been a greater need for a drought-tolerant grass like TifTuf™. We know it will create sustainable, environmentally friendly lawns, sports fields, and golf courses around the country that use significantly less water than other grasses available on the market today."

“While researching TifTuf™, I was impressed by the cultivar’s tolerance to adverse conditions, particularly drought, low fertility, traffic, and cool weather. In the trial work I conducted, TifTuf™ was the first to green up in the spring, the last to go dormant during drought conditions, and the most tolerant to traffic. Other notable characteristics of TifTuf™ include fine leaf texture and high density, as well as aggressive growth and establishment rates.”

“We found evidence that TifTuf™ used less water than Tifway419 and TifSport. It’s just a very tough and drought-tolerant grass. As soon as it quits raining, TifTuf™ is still performing well, unlike others that can start to fail.”
